Sustainability is as important to VAI Resort as it is to our guests. By adopting sustainable practices, our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint, limit waste, and promote responsible resource use, making hotel stays, events, and conferences more environmentally friendly and efficient. We also feel that practicing sustainability helps protect the future of hospitality and the meeting and events industry, ensuring the industry remains viable and can continue to thrive in the long term. Environment
Environmental responsibility is a priority, with the property projected to use only 30% of the allotted water from the former agricultural site.
Water use will be less than 1% of the city's SRP (Salt River Project) portfolio.
VAI will use 25% or less water daily than the average golf course in Arizona.
The size of the water features and pools has been reduced by nearly half to minimize water use.
VAI Global Development is collaborating with the City of Glendale on a water conservation plan.
The resort is implementing a water sustainability system to capture rainwater, reduce evaporation, and recycle water for irrigation and landscaping.
Hotel
Partnering with a third party that fulfills sustainability practices to launder and process all of VAI Resort’s linens, terry, uniforms, F&B linens
Offering bulk guest room amenities to limit one-time use amenity bottles for shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion.
Eliminating the use of plastic guest room amenities and replacing them with a sustainable option.
Utilizing bottle refill stations throughout the property.
Food & Beverage
Sustainable fish purchasing: VAI Resort will ensure a minimum of 75% of seafood purchases come from sustainable sources as governed by Marine Stewardship Council, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and World Wildlife Fund.
Partnering with Chefs to End Hunger to redistribute excess food from waste to charitable organizations to feed the needy.
Utilizing ECOLAB innovations with chemical cleaning products to reduce environmental and health impact. Additionally, we will utilize technology to maximize efficiency in ware washing.
Aiming to reduce our carbon footprint by utilizing local service/vendors.
